Investigative Data Journalism Training (24-26 April)

BMF organised three-day training workshop on Data Journalism titled ‘Data-Driven Storytelling’ (finding stories in numbers and using numbers to tell stories) from 24 to 26 April 2017 for reporters and editors with little or moderate knowledge of data journalism. This workshop provided them the foundation and the essential skills and techniques of modern data-driven journalism. Combining theoretical elements, practical exercises and useful online learning resource, this workshop provided the participants with tangible data analysis skills that can be immediately applied to their journalism which will make a difference in their newsrooms and their day-to-day reporting. This training workshop was more hands-on with practical exercises with the whole objective to “talk a bit, do a bit” approach to learning. A total of 22 participants (10 male and 12 female) from media different media houses attended the training.
